WELCOME PINTEREST!

MARCH 16, 2022

Today’s Pinterest Collage session will teach collage techniques inspired by great artists Henri Matisse and Salvador Dali. Collage is a very accessible medium that's fun and playful. It also opens up the possibility of new art materials from the world around us.

Collage helps us escape from stress. The tactile nature of collage allows us to stay on the task at hand while exploring our creative side, thereby reducing anxiety and worry. The process of collaging helps slow down an overactive mind. Collage also inspires an altered mindset. It's a perfectly unpredictable medium where things just come together without overthinking

The first half focuses on Color + Emotion. We learn about color theory, color energy, graphic form and use Matisse as an inspiration to guide us. The class will show how to rethink and approach collage in new ways. It will help see the possibilities of creating art based on mood and color.

The second half will take a more mixed media and Surrealist approach. We will work with our collage books to create innovative landscapes of imagery.
