Camp Minted 2024: Inks + Intentions

A Mindful Art Experience at Camp Minted

After last year’s well-received Mindful Watercolors session, I was thrilled to be invited to return to Camp Minted 2024. I traveled to Atlanta for three days of workshops with an incredible mix of staff and fellow artists. Artists were invited to pitch ideas and propose sessions for this special conference, and my ideas were selected once again. As part of the experience, I had the honor of hosting the special closing ceremony, where I led a group of 70+ Minted artists and employees through our “Go with the Flow: Inks and Intentions” workshop. We began with a mindful meditation to ground everyone in the moment, followed by reading custom Intention cards, and then moved into a shared art project that allowed us to explore our creativity collectively. It was such a special opportunity to deepen connections within the Minted Artist community! The entire experience was a wonderful reminder of the power of live interactions and the joy of coming together to create something meaningful.

Coming Together in an AI World

What struck me most after returning from Camp Minted, where AI dominated many conversations, was the undeniable value of human, in-person connections. While AI helps us write, create, and design, what truly makes us human is our ability to come together, share, learn, and engage with one another. There is so much value in the process of spending time, having meaningful conversations, and sharing experiences. While the world may be shifting away from these moments, the power of art remains a grounding force.

At Crave Workshops, we design each of my experiences to embrace creativity as a journey, ensuring that everyone feels empowered and inspired. The key lies in simplicity—the act of making something with our hands reduces stress and fosters calm. While technology enables us to ship kits worldwide and host workshops via Zoom, the core of what we do remains human. The heart of our work is to connect people, to bring us back to the basics of creativity and to remind us of the importance of coming together, especially in a tech-driven world.
